by BetOnline Sportsbook
Some football betting players may have lost a little faith in Pittsburgh Steelers after an abnormally poor Week 1 performance, but it’s only one game, so don’t be quick to leap off the bandwagon yet.
The Steelers will get back on track this week as Seattle Seahawks comes to town, and it’s not going to be pretty for the Seahawks as they’re going to get pushed all over the field.

Why Bet On Seattle Seahawks
Nothing really went right for the Seahawks in a 33-17 loss in San Francisco, as they were down 16-0 by halftime, they allowed a punt return and a kickoff return for a pair of touchdowns late in the game when they still had a chance, and Tarvaris Jackson may be in the lead for “worst QB in the league” after three turnovers. Two positives to take from this game was the play of receiver Doug Baldwin, who had four receptions for 83 yards, including a 55-yard score, and he could prove to be a solid slot receiver for the Seahawks. Seattle also stopped the 49ers in four of their five red-zone chances, holding San Francisco to field goals, so it actually could have been a lot worse.
But the Seahawks may have to look elsewhere for another quarterback to boost their NFL betting odds: Jackson was with offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell in Minnesota, and the two reportedly didn’t get along, so this may not be the right situation for Jackson, but then again, what is? Receiver Sidney Rice may miss this game with a shoulder injury, which hurts an offense that can’t run the ball, and the line allowed five sacks against the 49ers. The defense did what it could to keep the team in the game, but then special teams ruined their chances. Head coach Pete Carroll is going to have a tough week ahead in practice.
Why Bet On Pittsburgh Steelers
Ask any NFL betting player if they would have called a 35-7 loss for the Steelers in Baltimore, and if they said they did call it, then they should have bought a lottery ticket as well. But the way in which it went down should be disturbing to Pittsburgh fans as the Steelers committed seven turnovers, and five came from Ben Roethlisberger (three picks, two fumbles). Mike Wallace had a big day with eight receptions for 107 yards, but the Steelers kept shooting themselves in the foot offensively. They couldn’t protect Roethlisberger, who was sacked four times (including three by Terrell Suggs), and the Steelers made a lot of mistakes that you wouldn’t expect of a veteran team. Then the game got chippy as the Steelers were humiliated by their biggest rivals, which likely fired them up for this week.
You’re not going to see seven turnovers out of the Steelers again, and you can bet on that. The defense wasn’t as bad as the score suggests, they were just put in some terrible positions by turnovers, and you can only do so much against a solid offense like Baltimore. Also, the Steelers were already in trouble at both tackle positions, but now right tackle Willie Colon is out for the season because of a triceps injury, and they have to rectify that because Roethlisberger can’t spend another season running for his life.
How It Will Play Out
Pittsburgh is a 14-point favorite at home against Seattle, who is 2-3 SU and ATS in their last five meetings with the Steelers, with four games going under the posted total. Four of the meetings have come in Pittsburgh, with the Steelers claiming records of 3-1 SU and ATS.
While the Seahawks pulled out a massive upset in the playoffs last year against New Orleans, that was at home and with Matt Hasselbeck at quarterback. This week, they visit an angry Steelers team in Pittsburgh and they have Tarvaris Jackson at quarterback. Look for the Steelers to completely dominate this game in all aspects, and Jackson will take a beating behind his offensive line. Pittsburgh’s line isn’t that much better, but Seattle doesn’t have a pass rush. Wager on the Steelers this week in your online betting book Bet Online Sportsbook.
